    Hey Guys,

Sorry if this is not in the right place, but I couldn't find a fitting place.

I am actually a RC planes and Heli Pilot and only starting now with Onroad cars.

The RC car guys never had a club, so our Plane club is merging with the Car club meaning that RMFC ( www.rmfc.co.za ) is going to be a Plane,Heli, Car, Boat and anything RC related club. So now we are gonna build an Offroad, onroad and drifting track, but we want it to be national and maybe international standard, so that we can have big events there. My question is, where can find out more about building the tracks to national or international standards. I especially want specs on the drifting track. So when the Drifting I can ask all my Oneten friends to come and race (drift) with us.

    Regards

As far as i know, there isnt specs for drift tracks yet. So to same some money and such, i would just make the Onroad track asphalt (Unless you really like carpet) and use that for drifting. Just make sure if your doing both events in one day, the drifting is done last. If they go first, it leaves PVC residue on the concreate, and the spray doesnt stick. However, it does wear off in a day after pratices and such. Just for big events i wouldnt advise it.

As for on-road track standards, check out http://www.roarracing.com/, http://members.ozemail.com.au/~ifmar/, as those are the two "governing bodies" of RC racing. Now im not sure if im correct on this, but when i was reading about them, by each of their track standards, they couldnt both work on one track. i believe one contradics the other.
