I was looking for a solution to a problem and discovered this forum. I hope someone can help me solve a problem. I am modeling the Canandaigua NY yard in HO.

My Spectrum Doodlebug is noisy. Does anyone know how to easily remove the body from the doodlebug so I can silence its noisy gearing and motor. It is the only Spectrum I have that 'growls' as it runs. I've had it apart before to add DCC to it but it is difficult to take apart and I have already broken one detail doing so. The noise is driving me nuts.

I got this straight from the Bach-Man when I had to open mine up. Take a small screwdriver and pry the body and undercarraige apart at one end. Insert a round or square toothpick into the slit, then continue down the length of the body, using about 4-5 picks total. Repeat down the other side. Then turn you unit over and, with a little jiggling, it'll pop right out. :thumb:

I just set up a pictorial tutorial here>>> http://www.2guyzandsumtrains.com/Content/pa=showpage/pid=20.html
