I have been looking at Digitrax's Block detection and signaling devices. I was looking at the SE83C signaling decder and the BDL168 block detector. The SE8C says it is a signaling decoder plus a switch decoder. In the manual it only talks about slow motion switch machines and not soleniod (like Atlas snap switches). Can these be used with the system? And is there any website out there that has more information on these systems? Thanks

Hi Nick,

Sorry for the late reply. If you mean "can slow motion machines be used with Digitrax?" then the answer is yes. If these=solenoid type, I don't know. I would imagine that there would need to be some sort of capacitor fired in order to give enough power to throw the switch.

When in doubt, contact the manufacturer... There is also a Digitrax user group on Yahoo that are very helpful.
