You've got to be kidding we are only halfway there I make it 7 more yet. Maybe they had a dumb waiter running up the central pole for the Admirals comforts.

Fuso Searchlight platform

Hi

Fingers aren't working well at the moment took me about 4 hours just to get the sponsons at the rear of the platform done, there you are Jim one for the junkies.

I would not have wanted a job standing on them in a gale.

DN

There is a squarish outline marked just behind the Big range finder on the bridge deck below the searchlight one is it a screen of some kind ? That is if you can still remember your blue period.

Hi, Barry,
You have done this, however, excellent ones!
4-hour time had been worthwhile.
The ship of picture to the picture is more and more interesting.
It are very much a courageous to build such a ship.
With the best greetings
Christoph

Hi Barry
The rectangular shape you asking about is the outline of "signal stand" - some sort of shelf from which signalman would work. I couldn’t figure out how high above the platform deck this shelf would sit (probably lower than the edge of platform shield) so I left it out of the design. The Skulski's book is so precise that some things had to be "discarded" - otherwise you would now have gazilion parts to assemble

Thanks for the treat, Barry! :D

A well spent 4 hours, as Christoph said!

You sort of knew there would be a lot of little details on this beauty, after all it's a Roman design. But you had the same amount of detail work to do on that beautiful Savage, right? I would imagine all that experience building those amazing 1/400 scale ships, and all those small parts, is now paying off on this build as well.

Looking more and more impressive with each update, mate!

Fuso searchlights and sheer legs

Hi All

Sorry I am going so slowly that this is probably getting boring.

I could no longer stand looking at the hanging down bridge screens so I put the rear bridge sheer legs on it ties everthing together.

Hi

well the sun came out so ..........

I made a bit of a mess of the upper mast legs so I built another two a bit oversize and I will chop them off to fit when they are refitted. In real life they leave two holes in the bridge deck I wonder if they might be escape chutes you would need to be brave.

Barry, I've very shyly been watching some of the ship-building threads, and I am beginning to understand the fascination. What an incredible amount of detail there is to go on.

I keep trying to imagine this beauty on the settee...
