Here we go, images of the F3H Demon prototype! I'm very pleased with the overall shape, I think it captured the aircraft very well. I need to make some changes for some fit issues, and to straighten out that tail boom, but otherwise its looking good. The resolution of the texture isn't great, but I think I can optimize the paint scheme to help fix that.

possible paint shemes for F104 (when it is done)

    Hello Paragon,

I've been searching all my picture files for a Canadian Gate-guard F101 Voodoo with beatiful sheme but could not locate it (Actually I've come to believe that it was probably a magazine picture, I' ll keep searchig for it).

Anyway, I am sending you some photos of a very beutiful and unique anniversary F104 aircraft of HAF, if you want to put it into paper.

Also I am thinking that odd or peculiar paint schemes are allways welcome from the model world ( in other words: not another US or Danish F100 but a couple of Turkish ones with old square roundels and modern round ones like the ones involved in the Cyprus war in 1974)... That is just a thought, and I may be very very wrong about it.

Anyone please feel free to comment on it

Wow, those are some really complex paint schemes. That F-104 looks especially interesting. I can definitely try it out when I design the F-104, but all I have to work with is Photoshop, which makes its hard to line up the paint schemes sometimes.

And remember, all of you are perfectly welcome to make any paint schemes for my models that you desire. I can even supply you with the uncolored parts to make it easier if you just ask.

Anyway, Hopefully I'll build the F3H today, take pictures of it, and then release the PDF, today is a little busy though, so it may have to wait until tomorrow. The only paint scheme I've made for it is as a fighter in the VF-41 stationed on U.S.S. Independence. The Demon never served with any other militaries, so the only schemes available are for USN fighters. I'm still debating releasing it in another scheme.

Then its on to the F-100 Super Saber!

Will you also be doing the other "experimental" century aircraft such as the XF-103 Thunderwarrior, XF-107 Ultra sabre, XF-108 Rapier, and XF-109 VTOL?

I'd like to. Whether or not I actually will has yet to be seen though.

I'm very proud of the F-3 right now. It took a little tweaking to get the paint right, especially the words on the rear fuselage, they span three different parts, but I'm pleased to present, the F-3 (or F3H) Demon!

I'll have the file posted for download soon.

Also, I'm still going to finish the decade series first, but I just wanted to let you all know that I may be doing a special project afterward for Stavatti. It depends on whether they cooperate or not.

Oh, you can see more about Stavatti designs at

There's still some question as to whether they're real.

Nice looking builds nothing! It does bring up something though: recently, I've made a small change in my building habits - using strips instead of tabs. Besides reducing seams on models, I've found that when it comes to round fuselage parts, not only does it make the model look better, but its actually faster than cutting out dozens of small triangular tabs along the end of a cylinder, which makes up for the slight loss of time when using a strip to link the part into a cylinder. I'll take pictures of the process next time, just in case.

Anyway, on to the F-100 Super Saber. I haven't started yet, (though I'm about to), but I'm already wondering about paint jobs. I'm pretty sure the F-100 also came in a "Wild Weasel" variant, like the F-105, so I'll include that, and a standard USAF scheme. Stormeagle suggested a Turkish F-100, so I'll look into that. I also thought one of the US demonstration teams - probably the Thunderbirds used F-100s. If so, I'll probably have to do a scheme like that.

I also finally found an image of the "Hawk One Canada" Voodoo Stormeagle was talking about here, so I'm considering adding a new repaint of the Voodoo like that. I'm still trying to find better images first though.

    Just found another:

Anyway, I also felt like mentioning the blog I've added to my website. Its not much, but its there. Hopefully I'll be using it more, and for more interesting posts.

There`s already a Wild Weasel version of the F-100 by FG, but not this one, a two-seater:

Well that looks like my model, but I definitely don't recognize the color scheme - it looks far better than mine do. Did you recolor it yourself nothing?
  19. Nothing

    Nothing Longtime Member

yes i did i need a korean mig to go with the sabre.

and it doesnt look better than yours. but i appreciate the compliment.

It looks like you used some gradients on the scheme, which I didn't know existed when I made that model, so yeah, its better. I did a recolor of the grey one after seeing those images, I'll probably upload it later. Its a little nicer than the others, but still not terriffic.

And yes, I am working on the F-100. I found some line-drawings that were so detailed they included the rivets, so I'm making this one very high-res, so it can be scaled up a good amount without any loss of texture quality. I'll probably offer a high-res and low-res version on the website.
