yes, the reason is the small scale; I build the planes using 80g/m²paper, here it`s the normal paper for copies, to double it gives problems by shaping the tubes in this small diameter; I only double the wings
Intake and exhaust I paint with water colours, not with every single model, but if I`ve ten or so, though the Myster has to wait some days/weeks

Ok, today marks the first occurance of what may be a new habit of mine. As Edi noticed with the Mystere model, the texture gives a much better impression of shape, as well as the bare metal texture the plane is supposed to have. This is somewhat new in my models. I've used gradients plenty, but the DC-10 project saw some changes in my work, which included attempting to mimic the look of shiney metal with flat printed color (a futile effort in the end, but I think I found a happy medium). Before that, I had only used one grey to simulate this, and I found it severely lacking.

So now I've gone back, and revised my most popular model, the English Electric Lightning, using this new technique, and the end result is quite pleasing, if I do say so myself. Look out for re-texturing of many other of my aircraft, including the F-86, MiG-15, F-105, Su-7, Su-9, etc.

I'm also considering a second version of the Lightning, with full wings instead of flat stock stuck together, also like my more recent models.

Let me know how much you guys want this, or if you want me to go ahead and move on to other projects. Also, let me know what models you all want next. I'm still working on the Yak-25 and Su-56 textures, but those won't take long.

to be honest, I would prefer a going ahead, because your older designs are all without any doubt very good looking; it`s quite normal to improove technicssign1
But the decision is yours, and I will go with it.

    New models, hmmm, a lot....
    Handley Page Victor
    Avro Vulcan
    Super Etendart
I think a lot of them saw active service

and again Thx for the wonderfull Mystere:thumb:

I think you should continue to develop new models. Perhaps you could just go back to ealier models once in a while to improve them (if you really think they need it). Personally I like them very much. They can be very quick and pretty nice builds as they are, or I can spend an extra day or two making subtle little details myself. Sometimes I find that better in some models.
For instance: some of you may have had the short pleasure of downloading the "Ultra-Realistic" Warhawk fighter from the game of the same name. I did, and I still cannot get myself to sit down and start on it. It is almost too detailed for me. And trying to reduce the amount of detail in some models is simply to exhausting.
As for simple appearance of the textures, I say go for it if you can.
Paragon, your models are always very nice, and fun to build.
Thanks very much for your efforts, and your awesome airplanes.

Just a quick update, the Su-56 "Mini Flanker" has been uploaded, and is awaiting approval. I'll post images as soon as I finish the build as well.

I appreciate the fact that you actually go back and improve some of the older textures but I rather agree with the previous friend: More emphasis on new designs...

And since we are at it, I would love to see models of : Su15 Flagon, F84F,F84G,RF84F, C27 SPARTAN and Be200.

Ok, here are some images of the completed Su-56 model. I am extremely pleased with it, personally. I feel very proud of the texture, especially around the exhaust.

has anybody the wingspan, because i like to do it in 1/144, found nothing in google

According to the resources I used, the wingspan is 11.43 meters. So that would make 1:144 scale wings about 8 cm? Give me a little bit and I can get it up for you.

I've uploaded a 1:144 model of the Su-56. Expect it to be approved soon.

I think it's time for a website for paragons models...

I agree. the sheer number demands it. it would also be nice if it was organized and had pictures, maybe similar to trotskiy's or ojimak's.

Well...I've never created a website before, so maybe you have some advice? Where should I go to get one? How should I host the files? Is there some way I can tag them, so a user can sort them in different ways (like according to decade or according to country)?

Sorry, no advice from me, I have sort of the same problem...
Maybe someone else here on the forum can help ?

Personaly I find the download section here a bit of a mess...i'd like to see pictures of the models before I download.

Well, a little time with Freewebs and this is what I've come up with: Paragon Cardmodels |

I know, there is only one file up there so far, thats just because I haven't had the time to add more. Eventually they'll all be up there.

Free file hosting by works for me, at least you don't get the annoying pop-ups, waits, and download limits of rapidshare (oughta be called slowshare) and similar sites... i think zSHARE - Free Image, Video, Audio, Flash and File Hosting .net is also ok.

in both cases you can link directly to each model's download page from your site. my set-up does not go directy to the single model page (instead it goes to the 'group' page) only because i'm too lazy to cut and paste each and every page link).
