I would say the legs need to be thicker, larger. This will prevent the model from looking top-heavy. Latest manga styles have disproportionally large calves and feet on the designs.

So I resized the cab and I think it looks a bit better, but I am interested in hearing your opinions on the matter. The first one is more accurate to the toy,I have been using pics of the masterpiece prime for reference. The second one to me just seems to look more proportional. I'm leaving this to popular opinion as I can't decide.

I added a third pic, I resized the legs instead of the cab per rojo's suggestions, I kinda like this one the most, as it's a little more accurate to the toy.

Hey V5,

The re-sized legs are the way to go :D Good call Rojo.

I'ld be glad to help as a beta builder here :D

I'ld say G1 is the best of the best in Transformers. I thougth Armada had some cool stuff as well (especially Prime). The new movie stuff took a little bit to grow on me :p but I love em now :D

I like the third pic as well. The feet should be at least as 'heavy' as the shoulders to give the figure balance. This is looking very good so far!

One last update before I turn in for the night. Got the arms and smokestacks done, for the arms I plan on having opening communicators on at least one arm(probably the left) Who should I put in the communicator display? I was thinking bumblebee or maybe megatron. I textured the grill as well. All thats left is a little bit more texturing where possible and the two hardest parts, the hands and head.

thanks for taking me in, it is a great job but as you ask:mrgreen: I still see it a little to plain from the back to front, I think if it's not going to be transformable it could be a little more rounded, here is a good looking top view of the canopy shape. hope it help.

Thanks for the suggestions xavs, but at this point I'm pretty much wrapping this one up. I actually already have about 50% of it unfolded. Unfortunately I wasn't able to give him a cool pose, I did however make an optional arm to at least give him some character, sorry guys but i'm still learning this stuff, it's an ongoing process. should be ready for a beta build in a few days.:thumb:

What did you have in mind G1? something for the released model, or on an individual basis? I'd be happy to do a collaboration effort here if you want. Let me know. Unfolding is almost done by the way, all thats left is the head, hands, and the blaster.

V5,

I'm ok with either way.

Perhaps do what I'm doing with Voltes. Release the basic model and then work on the advanced one after that one is done :D

first test build is just about done, with the head added the model will be around 45 cm tall. I thinks it's ready to send to beta builders, so far Xavs, and Getter1 is doing builds, I could use one more if anyone is willing. Also if everyone could take pics that would be great, prefer a pic of each components seperate pieces then those pieces assembled. Contributors will get recognition in the instructions. Doh! I just noticed the leg was on the wrong side in the first picture! Guys I'll be sending you the files here shortly.

Here is Optimus Prime finally finished, Getter1 is still doing his beta build but from my build I didn't have any errors other than missing flaps which have been fixed. I haven't heard from xavs on his beta build for a while so not sure what's going on there. Sorry G1 if I offend by releasing before you finish your build, just want to finish up in progress stuff before I start vehicle voltron. So at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would love to see some build threads and enjoy all!

Hey V5,

That's cool :D If you didn't find any errors then I doubt I would have :p

Note to all. If you set the PDF to print at 2 pages per sheet it will build the same size as the Masterpiece prime :D
