I recently bought a loco that is dcc ready. What does this mean? And can it be used like an ordinary ho loco with a power pack
Ps new here and this is my first and hopefully last stupid question.

FIRST, NO question is a stupid question:winki: , feel free to ask all you want:thumb: .

OK, DCC ready means the engine DOES NOT have a decoder in it, but it DOES have the "quick plug" to install a decoder:winki: . the only way that engine will run RIGHT NOW is by using a DC power pack. at this time it WILL NOT run on a DCC system, unless the DCC system has the option to run one DC engine.

    i hope that helped:smilie: .
