Hi Burton, Not exactly sure what you're asking. Haven't heard the work macro used in referance to DCC. By track changes do you mean turnouts? Ther are signal systems which will work on both DCC and Dc layouts. Also, Digitrax has a feature called transponding which reports where specific trains are and this can drive a signal system which they are about to release. Also of course it communicates with your PC if you so choose. This I'm afraid is way beyond my level of interest tho. I'll be glad to help where I can.

There are several system in the DCC accessory world that let you program routing through turnouts - i.e. a yard. It would definitely require stationary decoders for operating the turnouts and possibly detection and/or signaling of some sort. I am not into that element of DCC yet but I am sure there are some folks on the Gauge that could help
