Not being satisfied w/ the short cylindrical stacks offered on Atlas & Bachmann S-2 & S-4 models being too short to use on LAJ ALCOs, had David Cutting at Cutting Edge Models do the stacks thru Shapeways. Did the same thing for the Santa Fe ones because theirs are rectangular not cylindrical & also too short. An image of both "mounted" ix attached.
They obviously haven't been painted/weathered yet as have to soak them in "Bestine" before doing that. Email me at lajrmdlr AT gmail . com if you have questions about them or would like to get some. Will have them at SpringRail in Alhambra CA this coming Sat. 5/17/14.

Anyone know if either of these stacks were used by other RRs?

Found out recently UP also had extended stacks on their ALCO S-2/S-4. They didn't do it to all of them though. Some look like they're from Funk & Wagenal. LOL Looks like these could be duplicated w/ my cylindrical stack & maybe a thin band or even a thin decal around the "joint".
