What are the steps for taking a jpeg file and coverting for use in Pepakura
You mean as to load a paper model into pepakura then turn it into a 3d model?
You can only convert 3d CAD models in Pepakura to unfold them. A jpeg filr is a bitmap and can be used for creating a texture for a 3D model. You need one of the following file formats to convert: DXF, 6kt, 6ks, lwo, 3ds, obj, or mqo. All of these formats are from 3d graphics software. DXF is generally Autocad, 3ds is 3D Studio, lwo is Lightworks, Hexgreat is 6kt or 6ks, Wavefront is obj, and mqo is Metasequoia.
These are the only file types which can be converted to a pdo for pepakura. After converting there is till a lot of work to be done. Tabs laid out, textures applied, page layout etc.
Hope this helps.
All I want is to convert a drag car we race into a format that can be made into a paper model. Does any one on this forum do this type work?
You mean to design from a picture?
That'll mean to design something in CAD from scratch, Pepakura won't help you...
