Holy Moly.....!!! You can do this on an 8X6....Even in N-scale..??!!! Hmmmm.....Is there a change of scale in my future...???....NOT..!!!

The only question I have about your layout, how do you deal with a derailment near the turn table or along that yard throat in the center of the table?

Those were my thoughts as well. You might be able to lean in and stretch across 3' from both sides, in theory being able to reach the whole table. BUT, that's only if your belly doesn't crunch any buildings or scenery near the edges while reaching. I'd be willing to bet that you have about 6 square feet of very important layout space in the middle that will be awfully difficult to reach.
