From what I understand XNA and C# can be downloaded for free for pc however for XBOX you have to join a developers club for a fee:rolleyes:

At one time I concidered signing up at Full sail online colledge they provide you with a nice Mac computer when you enroll in the multi-media and computer graphics programs but they were pretty expensive, Last time I went through the Columbus campus of Devry I saw a whole class/lab room with students playing and developing games:cool:

One of the latest books I checked out from the library is a network(hobbiest level) project book and it was talking about how to hook tivo up to your network:confused: and there was a special router that is not wireless but needs no cables either it puts the signal on you house wiring and uses that as the network cool but not sure if that is a safe thing to do:shock: a cool book for those of us who are just barley computer/network schooled:thumb: some of the stuff is very basic like sharing a dsl/cable modem and file sharing ect. but it also had some not so ordinary things as well.

 must return to house cleaning and moving stuff out of parents home and into mine most of my train stuff has made it there already, and still no work for me yet at my employer:nope:

    Evening all!

The missus and I are back from San Antonio. Had a great trip and got to visit my brother for a couple of days.

The bad news is my daughter is stuck in NYC with her HS choir and theater group (25 including chaparones) due to all the flights canceled here today. They cannot get out until tomorrow and then the airline has routed them through Atlanta and then to OKC and we have to drive 210+ miles to get them. The only other option was to wait until Friday - but no hotels available for 25 person group - plus cost would be ridiculous.

To add to this - my sons ski trip to CO, their bus broke down late last Friday night and delayed them 7 hours.

    Sumthin's gotta improve soon???

    SHAKE AND BAKE, get well!!!
John, great job on greenhouse. Wow, came home late from Town Board. Ate a bag of popcorn and just woke up. Grandson not here????? Must be coming tomorrow AM. Chris is managing a job at Durham Bulls Stadium. Probably too late to drive tonight. Got meeting all day anyway. G'Mom is suppose to be off of work rest of week. Car seat installed in 4Runner. Back to sleep [in bed this time]. BTW: Roy, how bad. Teenage daughter stranded in NYC. "Dad, I'm so sad." :thumb:  bounce7

To Arms...To Arms... McDonalds is offering 'sweet' iced tea... What next...grits with the Big Breakfast?

Electrical parts package arrived yesterday! Woo Hoo...small package...Remember when you could get $10 worth of groceries in a bag? This isn't even close to a grocery bag, or $10.

Tested switch for switches! Works great! Now to solder some LED's and resistors. May post ideas on control panel, to get feedback...questioning weather to install switches on panel or off to side.

    Switch and LED Success!

Morning all. Love Tom and Jeffrey's photos each morning. Cooking breakfast. 10:30 meeting at Town Hall with one power company [Town has small section of Co-Op] about burying lines. Progress Energy buries all their lines. Co-Op does not want to do the capital outlay. Guess what? Yes the will. Then meeting with contractor/developer and YWCA person about a YWCA in Roseyville. Then Transportation Meeting this afternoon. Shake and Bake, get up and get going!!!! Ran trains yesterday. All fine and did good. Had been two weeks since I had done more than start them up and move them on layout. Got to go. Have a great day.

    Good morning folks

It is raining and the temperature is 44 F on its way to 60 F.

Not much to report. I thought I was going to do a photo session but instead I wound up working on the script for our upcoming Cub Scout Pack Meeting next week.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Sweet tea is good, sassafras tea is good,But no way should grits be used for anything but potholes. There ought to be a law.
Wet this morning, wife feeling a little better but not good, and a year older. I'm taking her to lunch. Maybe PS2 golf. Everyone enjoy this day,,,,S.J.
  13. Chief.....We heard some nasty news today, about Roseyville. It seems that they are not being a cooperative colony of Raleigh. Seems that the greasy people of Roseyville are pouring gallons of grease down their drains and it's all flowing to Raleigh. That's terrible. You owe Raleigh a lot for letting you folks in Roseyville be a Colony. As Mayor, you should propose a ban on grease. It probably is from the greasy grits. Just another reason to ban grits. I knew it. Now grits grease is stopping up all the outhouses in Roseyville.
    For shame.

Morning all. Another cold grey day in Chicago. T minus 2 days until daughter's take off to France for the week. That Durham Bulls stadium job sounds nice for Chris - Bull Durham is one of my favorite movies. Ran trains again last night. As Laz sez, no pileups. Thinking of adding another loop to connect the trolley lines.

CHIEF, I'll email you later on the cost. Or you can have it free if you promise not to eat anymore GRITS and tell everyone in the South they are no good for you and that sweet tea will rot out your teeth.
    All have a good one,

Chief - Don't do it - It's not worth it.

KURT, I have some LEDs that must have the resistors already in them. They are tiny and yet work great. Can get them in colors too. I use them to light dummies. If interested, I will get infor for you [or others].[/quote]

Chief - I would like that info

Hope everyone has a great day!

Is anyone coming to York, PA???? Haven't heard anything recently...

I'll be at the first show "East Coast Large Scale Show" -- All "G" scales.

    I'll be there march 29th..

    I won't be there for the O scale show :( :(

    No. I can’t make it.

Between Cub Scouts and the beginning of baseball/softball there is no time. To make it worse, throw in Easter and three birthdays in the next four weeks. If it was at the end of April it might be a different story.

It seems like all the big shows occur at the most inconvenient time for me lately.wall1

Chief: I'd like info on the LED's as well...I paid $.10 for the single color LED and the resistor was $.5, in batches of 10. The Red/Green LED was a lot more...$.35 each + $.05 for the resistor.

I bet I can hot wire a couple of these and really get the lights in the geep to light, instead of only one bulb for the whole thing. Oh...and back-up lights for the tenders!...and brighter marker lights in the 2400 series observation car!

Question for all you computer repair people out there...
I found a crimper and 8-pin modular repair plugs at All Electronics. About $10 for crimp tool and a batch of plugs, is much cheaper than buying new cable all the time when the spring clipbreaks. Are these worth the time/money?

A quick stop by. Got a case to handle in a few minutes...hey, they can't start without me! Anyway, Chief, I too would be interested on information regarding the LEDs. John, great greenhouse! I know my wife would love one, but I also know that I'd be stuck doing all the work., so we'll leave it at that.

Got something important to be working on. I will try to fill y'all in later. It will keep me busy thought.

Hope everyone has a blessed day,
