Todays progect while Bubbette is away and I shoud be doing my chors is an engine repaint. Else where I posted...
??? Why do I do these things ???
I started out to repaint this Berkshire for use on my C&O coal road .
I use several different types of flat black to get different shade of black on the engine in different places and that replicates an engine with a lot of miles and hard use, plenty of heat & soot.
While poking around in the garage for some grill paint.
Found the touch up paint for my car. It is a dark, heavy metallic blue and I gave the tender a shot...it looked good.
The pictures dont truly show the color and the metal in the paint, it is brilliant in the sun.
I will let this set out a few days..it is dry to the touch now, I will let the paint cure, lot it over then decide to either clear coat it and reassemble it or strip it and go black to black and weather it. i would rather do that however, as it is, deaclled and renumbered, it may look pretty sharp especially if I paint the front silver. It is gray now, that is if I did a good masking job.
i BET GET THE MESS CLEANED UP AND TAKE A SHOWER, i TOLD MY FOLKS ALSO i WOULD BE UP TODAY BUT i HAVE TO GET MY CHORES DONE FIRST..GOOTA DASH..DAMN CAP LOCKS!:curse:

Gil - That looks like a great start. Can't wait to see the next step. I do think you have to change the color of the blue coal.
This is the week that they try to put 5 days of work in 3 days.

Morning all. Much needed rain. Wife is home this week getting ready for Thanksgiving meal for her folks and getting house ready for Chirstmas. She says whe is cleaning out upstairs. We are going to put things in black plastic bags to go to Goodwill or dump. Can't do today as raining. Told her I would store and haul tomorrow or next day after rain. Then to find time to do my painting, finish insulating and covering walking in and finally building benchwork. This is a great start. Later

where the temp is 27 deg and heading to 37 with 1 to 3" of snow on the way. Weatherman say the inches with turn to feet of snow by Thursday night.
Last night we put pin stripping on our new engine.

Light dusting here - overnight - they change the forcast as they go - so they won't be wrong It's been snowing here in NE Ohio most of the day. It started to stick around 3:00pm and now we have about 2 inches or so. They say that by tomorrow night we will be measuring it in feet instead of inches
Time will tell. We are close to the lake and it may blow over our house, but the area just south of us will get hit.

I think I will add some cole to this and leave a few chunks spilled around the box. Think that would like real? This load of cola looks to much like slack, to even and tidy.

where the temp is 18 and only going to 24 deg with overcast skies and snow falling.
Well they updated the forcast and lighten up the snow fall amount. We are only going to get 8 to 10" now. :thumb: 
My Mother-in-law did a great job on dinner yesterday with enought leftovers to do it again today.
Tomorrow is a train show at Parma UAW hall.
