I stumbled across this excellent collection of K16 racing sailboats. Extremely nice collection, and they are all FREE! There's a 14' International class too, the the wings on the side for hanging out to counterbalance, quite an experience. :)

All FREE, these are worth downloading a building for a friend. :thumb:

It is a nice collection. They would make great cargo for your tractor trailer!! :)

Snagged them all.....But what would make me REALLY happy is a Catamaran, or a Hobie Cat. I used to have a 16' foot Hobie, and would love a shelf model ;)

I'll have to see if I have one tucked away. I remember there being one somewhere. :)

How long would you want the overall length, or what scale? :)

This is a Hobie Cat 16 I was working on for the last hour. Does that seem interesting? :)

Overall length im not sure about, but the mast was 18' from very top to the "deck"

As far as scale, i suppose the same scale as the racing sailboats would work

22'3" was the total length of the Hobie Cat 14, so accounting for stepping the mast, 18' doesn't sound unreasonable, the Hobie 16 was much much longer so there could be no confusing the two. The hull I rendered was of the Hobie Cat 16. I think scaled down, they are the same, gotta check, might have to re-do it. It won't be as small as 1/18 though, small sailboats aren't worth building. 1/10 scale would make it 14.4" inches and that has a nice size and ease to work on. I have to check the actual length of the hulls. You can always scale down easier than scaling up. :)

If you design the Hobie or any kind of Catamaran, do you plan to make it available?
I ask because I also really love that double hull type.
I'd also be really interested in a trimaran. When I lived in Seattle, doing fiberglass repair on boats and aquatic vehicles, one of the marinas in Elliot Bay had a really amazing and very sweet looking Trimaran.
You could tell that besides being a Trimaran, it was a money boat beyond that. It was really dressed up.
Thank you for your current rendering post on the Hobie. Very cool.

Thank you for posting that link Zathros. My sister and bro in law are big sailing fans. These will be pretty cool little builds they may enjoy alot.
