Magnus Morck for his and these classic historic, models. he has designed and given freely to the world, and to whom the final and greatest Thanks must be given!
Here's a shot of the bow showing the torpedo spar. That is magnificent. It would sure be nice to see some more pics of that ship. It came out beautiful!! Very impressive!!
Almost pure paper. Most is Canon matt photo paper. Some letter weight, some tissue run through the printer (flags) and some tablet backs. The four masts, the torpedo spar and the queen posts are brass rod or modified tooth picks. Rigging is Lycra thread and 0.004" stainless steel wire. Weathering is pure pigment worked into the surfaces dry or mixed and used as alcohol washes.
And, yes there are some model technique things I will change on future civil war boats and ships. The two that jump out to me are the ship's ladders and the various windows, ports and doors. But, this time I tried to go with the kit paper except where I started gnashing my teeth.
EDIT: This is a bit too much information for the free models thread, but I'm such a rebel! I really like these models.

Here is a Commodore Perry I finished a couple weeks ago from this download collection. (Stern view although the prototype was double ended and had duplicate end fittings.)
Lighter,
May i have premission to use the photographs of your Commodore Perry build? I would like to present them to Mr. Morck's family. They were wanting his legacy to live on and would like to see these. Also, I might want to use them on the website.
Really is nice work!

Lighter,
I did present these to the family and they were very appreciative. Also, take a look at the website (http://modelsnmoore.com) on the Magnus Mörck page. You might be interested.
