Last might I was photographing some of the Maisto "On Track" diecast trains for an article on my website - they're 1/131 size (not really scale). I got help - lots of it. Feline help. Here are pics of the cats doing their thing:

(Some of the photos might offend Santa Fe fans.)

These Maisto trains would be great to give kids if they want to get into YOUR trains. They look like regular small scale stuff to the untrained eye, and they are pretty hard to break. I'll be looking into other ways to have fun with them. Hey, they led me to add another section to my site - Train Toys!

Nice pics & Great story!! - Does this mean, that if I buy these trains, my cat :D (the furball from hell) :) will leave the "main layout" alone???

    Yeah Right!! :D :D :) :D :D

Thanks for sharing !! ~~ Mikey

There's another thread on here about cats but I think that was before Thor joined us. Seems to me it was about cats tearing up layouts and "whizzing" on them:D :D :D

All you guys have to do now is figure a way to make a very old and used loco into a mouse covered loco. Anyone got any plastic mice laying around the house? The kind with the wind up motor to it?! LOL

BTDT, I have a friend, that, on Halloween had a "Giant Mouse" run across his mantle - on HO track. Hmmmmmm I wonder if that's why it looked like a deisel. :)

It was really good looking. He scared quite a few ladies with it.. :) :)

This thread makes me chuckle... Yesterday, I crawled under my benchwork to retrieve my staple gun when I felt something gooey and wet on my bare knee. What else but a FRESH hairball!!!!! Needless to say, I didn't feel very well for about 15 minutes. Thank goodness it was on the carpet and not on the tracks!:D

Actually, it seems so. My cat loves watching my On30s run. Fortunately, he's too lazy to attack them.sign1

Yeah, pretty least he's not destroying anything. Actually, he's starting to do that less...guess he's just getting too lazy to lug himself all the way down the hallway to watch 'em run.

I like your website and pics.

My cats finally got bored of my trains when I had a mouse infestation.

Here is another thread about cats and trains.

My cats, whom are quite the model railroad enthusiasts, had fun last night. I had two sound equipped galloping geese and a mogul running around. At one point, my bigger cat was getting set to pounce on the mogul...but he didn't (I also told him not to...he usually obeys verbal commands).

The cats seem to understand that the On3 trains are not for eating. Unfortunately...they seem to think that HO trains are perfect for batting.

Hey, I have those Maisto trains! That's the first time I've seen anyone else with them.

I had a cat when I lived in Wisconsin. He peed and tore up the layout. Needless to say. The cat had to go. That's alot of money being wasted on his damage.

Am I the only one here who doesn't have cat trouble? Mine's a fat little angel (he actually looks and acts a lot like Garfield, but is nicer)

I've had several cats over the years, but one in particular liked to stalk my trains. I'd set up my N-gauge stuff on the dining room table, and all you'd see at first were two ears. That would last for about three laps around the table. Then this little paw would appear and take a swipe at the cars. After doing that once or twice I kept a pretty close eye on her. Microtrains cars aren't exactly cheap.
One of my current cats likes to hop up on the layout if I don't close the door to the bonus room tightly. She hasn't done any damage to the rolling stock, but I've found a couple of holes in my hardshell scenery and a bunch of trees knocked down. She's now known as Hurricane Jasmine.
