can the lionel engines run on krail track?

    i was surfinh ebay, and found the same santa fe #212 engine says on the side, "BLT 8-57 by lionel, but they have it setting in krail, i think its k-rail, K somthing.

    As long as it is 3 rail and 1.25” gauge, Lionel can run on it. It was probably K-Line track you saw it on.

    so i could run the newer lionel trains on my old lionel track then?

    regardless of age, as long as its the traditional 3 rail track, it should go, i have some 70 year old 0-gauge track on my layout

    The only problems of compatibility in 3 rail trains are that some of them need wider curves.
    Some of the older trains required heavier track. Sometimes a loco will not like a different manufacturer's switches. Not all makes/series of tracks will join together -- the ones with roadbed moulded on are the worst; Lionel has 3 incompatible series.
    Some trains have different couplings.
