Bunge Grain Elevator - Hutchinson KS

Here we go - all 236,150 bushels of grain elevator. Wow, and I thought the plastic pellet facility looked pretty big on this diorama. This thing is just massive, and heavy to boot (what with the PVC pipe).

PS - a single track will go through the loading facility once installed permanently (and of course, a chute from the loading rack to the elevator itself); I made it long enough so that two hoppers can be loaded simultaneously.

Mike;

Great looking elevator. Have been to Hutchinson many times.

I'm curious how you closed the tops of the PVC you used for the silos?

Piece of styrene I CA'd to the silos once they were glued to the base. Then I just cut around the tops of the silos and did some filing to make the edges flush.

Same - I need a number of them as well. That's why I started kitbashing with this one, because I don't want them to all look the same. I think this will end up being the second largest one, though - the only larger one will probably be in Herington.
