Beinan has released a very good model (IMHO) of Kratos, the God of War. Along with what I'm already doing, I intend to build this for a friend, as a gift for his birthday.:thumb::cool:
I only realized that paper models do great gifts (some people here had told me that) after I started taking my models to display at work. Their mesmerized faces are absolutely incredible!
So, I preset you this thread, showing how I'm gonna do it (I hope I CAN do it), hoping for the best. Let's do it!
    Started with the face.

That looks cool! I just googled the model. It looks pretty tough, many parts on many pages. What's your deadline?

    DEAD line!

Middle May. I think I can make it, problems are: one certain project that's already delayed, The Groizer X, and, most of all, I have to study for my PMP certification!

    Details, details...

I forgot to mention: this model is about 60cm long (2ft), but I have rescaled it to approximately half the height, by printing two pages in one. And I'll be using 160gsm paper. Glue is my usual transparent PVA (styrofoam glue), with reinforcements by double-sided tape and/or paper whenever necessary.

What a REALLY COOL GIFT for a friend. I am certain that he will enjoy it.

I will be following this thread.

By the way, could you post the link to where you got it from?

Half the height would mean printing four pages in one; two pages in one means a height of about 71 % of the original one. However, leave it that way; it mustn't be too small!

Good luck with your build! :thumb:

Hmmmm... I hadn't thought of that... Since height is somewhat of a linear measurement... But I'll take your word for it, I won't bother to check it out. As you said, 71% will be cool enough!
Of course! And I'm sorry for forgetting about it! Here you go:

    Things in the head...

Another small update. So many pieces in the head almost made me give up... But no! I will not give up! Just think about how cool this will be when it's ready!:cool:
So, a pic from the small progress so far.

    Where are you heading to?

Small update. When I reduced the size of the pieces by printing two pages in one, I added a complication to myself: very small pieces. Kind of annoying, yes, but once you can put them together and things start to take shape, all your efforts are rewarded.
So, I'd like to present some more pics of my (slow) progress on Kratos's head. It's probably the model's part that has more pieces in it, and that's why it's so detailed and close to the real thing.:thumb::cool: But it's a real pain!
The model is great, my skills are not that much...

    Ahoy, micah!
Thanks for the kind words, but the model is great, I'm just trying not to mess it too much...sign1 Without tabs, and with pieces this size, its hard, but hard IS NOT impossible!
    Thanks for visiting, my friend!:thumb:

I know this thread has been stopped for quite a long time, but I'm studying to get my PMP certification. This may take a little while, but I'll try to make time for the model. Sorry and thanks for the comprehension!

Thanks for your post, man, it made me smile like a long time ago!:mrgreen:
Paper Modelling Professor?hamr:rofl::rofl: Actually, it's a certification from Project Management International, and PMP is Project Management Professional. It's an opportunity to grow as a professional, and the best thing is that it's valid for any field!:thumb::thumb::cool::cool:

I wish you the best of luck on the test. I too am keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Although, I have to say that I like DBK's Paper Modeling Professor explanation better.(I do believe that you already have that certificate as well with seeing the level of work that you produce now).

Once again, best of luck to you on your test.
