I'm sorry to disappoint you there Carl!
No valve covers or pushrods this time :)

Continuing with the engine and the engine housing.
Parts are dryfitted here, and I think they fit really nice :)

Johnny............... this is looking GREAT! I love this plane and I probably bugged Gee way to much before he released it:oops:

Whispering Death............. that is what the Japanese called the Beaufighter.............. they really hated this plane because of the ability to fly low, fast and because of it's heavy nose armament it would realy do some damage and then be gone before anyone could re-act.

The Japanese even when so far as stringing wires on poles to try and stop these low level attackers.............. The North Koreans took up the same idea to stop the USAF B-26 from doing the same thing, except the Invaders attacked at night and that made seeing the wires running from one mountain top to another very hard to see................ you know you have gained the respect of an enemy when he takes drastic measure to stop specific aircraft!

    Great build

This is a fantastic build, i am really glad you have done it with photo's for us to follow. I've got this model and can't wait till I'm good enough to do it justice. Along with the Mosquito this is one of my all time favourite aircraft. Keep up the great work :) :)

Great job so far on the build of the Beaufighter.

You are a true master of the card modeling medium!!

Thanks for your nice words Jim!
But I think master of the card model medium was a bit tough :)
Most of you guys around here are far better modellers than I am.
Maybe I just have chosen some well designed kits to build!

But enough talking....on to the progress pics!
Propeller and some other details I don't know the name of :)

    [IMG] [IMG]

Could anyone who has this kit tell me what color to use on the body??
Tamiya or Humbrol color number prefered.....
This colorblindness is hard to deal with sometimes...

    Re paint

Hi Josve, on my print out of this kit I have just checked against my humbrol paints from my p*****c days and number 104 seems to be a very close match. Fantastic build so far, keep up the excellent work.:)

    Me again

I have just checked a few books and the upper surface is listed as extra dark sea grey, which is humbrol number 123

The Tamiya paint numbers are AS-10 RAF Ocean Grey for the upper surface and XF-21 Sky for the lower surface (for both versions of the model). Hope this helps.

    P.S.: The build looks great!

Thanks for your inspiering words guys!
I really appreciate your feedback on this bird!!

    Started on the landing gear.
The main structure is done, and there are some struts and rods still to make.

    Also made the exhaustpipe.
It should be bronze, but it doesnt lok like that on the picture....

    Finished the ekshaust

I also made the "bulbe" over the gunner station.

On the pic it looks a bit too big, but it will fit just fine when it's glued to the correct shape.
