BN GP30 to GP39E conversion

This week, oi 'ave been mostly kitbashing yet another loco.

This time it's an EMD rebuilt P2K GP30. There wasn't much that needed doing apart from removing a few details and adding a few others to turn the model into a GP39E (the E is for EMD). the pictures sort of speak for themselves.

Ray, I have just started converting a GP35 into another GP39E and the horn is definately offset, beside the riveted plate covering the hole left by the small fan. here's a shot of 2907 after rebuilding, and another of the same engine (#2531) before EMD rebuilt it. The horns appear to be offset in both.

When I did mine (GP30), I mounted the horn into some square section plastic rod, and then mounted the plastic rod into the hood. that seemed to get the required height to clear the fan.
