Athearn Handrails

I have an Athearn blue box Conrail GP40-2 that needs handrails and I want plastic ones instead of metal ones.

Will the Atlas ones fit? If not, will I have to buy a set from Athearn and then repaint them? (Athearn doesn't make the plastic ones in Conrail blue

)

Will the Atlas ones fit?

Not likely. If you can get replacement handrails from Horizon (Athearn) you will likely have to repaint them. If you do, I suggest you get a paint made for lexan RC car bodies, as it's more flexible, and won't flake off the way most model paints will. Faskolor by Parma comes in a wide range of colours - something should be close to CR blue.
