I had the pleasure of meeting Phil Anderson (owner of Arizona Rock & Mineral Co.) at our club meeting last night.
Phil gave a presentation of his scenery products and displayed examples of some of his impressive work.
We were all invited to come to Paulden to see his layout and see how his line of products are produced.
Here is a link to Phil's web site.

Thanks Ray, that's great that he took time to visit with your club. I never give it much thought when buying material since I think I've only seen his product once in a store, so I usually wind up buying Woodland Scenics.

We went to see Phil's layout yesterday.
Phil demonstrated his operating coal loading facility, the roundhouse with operating stall doors and the operating hump yard.
We also got a tour and demonstration of how he produces his scenic materials.
Here's a few photos I took.

Wow! Great pics! He has a terrific knack for conveying that small town, other side of the tracks look! Lots of details really add to the scenes!

I only took a couple photos of the hump yard (We were having to much fun working the yard), neither one turned out.
I am amazed by the detail. It seems that each time I look at the photos I see something new I missed before.
Don, Phil's layout is at his home in Paulden. One of these days I would like to spend some more time talking with Phil and seeing his layout again.
