anyone know what this is??

    found it in a box with all the other train stuff...not sure what it is...maybe a transformer for power lines to run from? heck I don't know!! :p

    Anyone know??

    Looks like a transformer for a power substation, and was probably a load for a depressed center flat car, or heavy duty flat car. The three, "stacked disc" items, are insulators, there's one missing on the right hand side .

    Couldn't make a photo but I saw a real one today just exactly like the one pictured here in the thread but it was painted a silver color. It was in an electrical sub-station over behind the college here.
