Yeah, Peter was suppose to get this set up so that it got changed automatically. He has great plans for this, but apparently, like all great plans, they take time to formulate and even longer to implement. In the meantime, I'll go and see if I can't manually change it for now.

There are a lot from contests and stuff to choose from. Geez- just post a winning photo and rotate thru the non-winning photos once a week...

Too bad? What's too bad? I'm confused by your statement. It seems as if what we had thought we had set up we didn't. Since I use the Zealot portal and not the-gauge portal, I haven't seen the picture of the week so I wasn't even aware that it wasn't being changed until a few days ago. Mikey and I can change it manually, which I did, but that's never been on our list of things we needed to do, at least we didn't think so... But I don't remember making a decision based on who can be and who can't be. I selected the airplanes from this week's photo fun thread because I thought that was an appropriate picture, let me know if that's your issue, or the fact that we weren't aware that the other one was left there as long as it was.
I don't see anything wrong with your avatar. It it the right size and file type and right now I can see it. You say it "keeps failing to upload", are you trying to change it or are you saying it disappears? Let me know exactly what your getting and I'll see what I can do for you.
I'm OK with randomly chosen pics of the week for the Gauge home page. As far as I'm concerned they don't have to be photo contest winners. They can just a represenative sample of photos members post here.

You have to enter this forum using: "www.the-gauge.com". You can't get there once you enter the Zealot zone... That's why I have a tendency to overlook it, I normally come here by linking to one of the model train pages, usually "new posts".
If you are trying to upload a new one, remember the size restrictions.....
The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB

You're welcome, I also thought it would be a tribute to all the men and women in the armed services from any country fighting on the side of freedom. We salute those who are risking their lives so that we can do what we do here.
Without hesitation, that had to be my choice for this week.
