Alco RS-1 Showing Its Heritage

    I have heard that story, but was not there when it happened, so I can't confirm it.

    Great shot Pierce! Love that "Alco smoke"! I grew up in the 60's & 70's right next to the L&N RR's "Short Line" between Louisville & Cinncinnati, so the smell of diesel & brake smoke (some mean grades on that line) are some of my earliest & most cherished memories. Not to mention those throw-together lash-ups of Alco's & EMD's.
