I am very new to this railroading game. What is a good way to add age to new plastic buidings?
Hi and welcome!
There are many ways to age (or "weather" as we tend to call it) a structure. Some people like to brush on artists chalks, like earth tones or rust colors. This is an easy and very forgiving method that can be washed off and tried again. Others use a dry brush technique with paints to accomplish streaks of grime and rust. I've heard of some people actually rubbing real dirt onto a model. If you're handy with an air brush you'll get some nice subtle effects. There is a spray on product called dulcoat that will also take the sheen off a plastic surface. I'm guessing you'll get lots of advice here!
