A Visit to a Hump fright yard.

David asked me to photo the Hump at McCowan, and John aka Diesel John, offered to show me around!!!!!!
So Hold on to your hats.:thumb:
I took a LOT of pics but this is dealing with the hump only.

After meeting up with John signing the waiver and putting on the safty gear we Drove over to the tower.

Here is John and in front of john is one of the operaters.

This shot One of the guys has to moniter all the freight coming over the hump.
Each has a Number , they use the last three # to track them into the park area

And this is the monitor with the # showing, the red P is where they uncouple the car`s be it one or three in a row.

When they are free to roll, their weight is measured over this track

Then through the first set of brakes

The Switches have already been selected and farther down we see more brakes each section of multy track has them.

They have 72 tracks of which 68 are in use.

Inside the tower there are two area this is Gary who cotrols all the hump,, in and out .
