A Vacation...

Hey All!
I going on vacation. It'll be Sept. 16-30; just before
my work begins its new fiscal year.
(Everybody orders their new equipement then.)
Anyways....
I've been invited over to friends in Oklahoma City,OK
and Richmond,WV. Not sure which to go see.

My question to ya'll is; who might be up to a tour of yer
layout and a spot of porch sit'n (chatting), during my
journey to whichever of these places I decide to head?

I'd be coming up from deep Southwest Florida. Most
likely headed up I-95 to WV; and over I-10, over to
I-20/80 (somehow), and then up I-35 to OK.
Soooo....

P.S.- The pics of ya'lls layouts and real trains have been
awesome and inspiration.

I'm headed south to Clearwater Florida Friday night and hoping to be there by late Saturaday night.

I'll be there for a week. I was wondering what type of train action is down that way besides Amtack. May be we can get together. It seems that Fort Myers isn't that far away.

RI541 - can't say for sure *now*, but that's definitely the route of the Seaboard Coast Line. Whoever they eventually got merged into is the locos you'll end up seeing (since I model 1980, that information isn't noteworthy to me).

Sir Prize - right into the heart of my layout country!!! Well, where my layout is positioned geographically; the layout itself is up here in Edmonton AB.

:D :D :D

Woodie- I think I-10 goes all the way to Los Angeles. From
what I hear their pretty "FAR OUT" there. :D :D :p
I myself always seem to go the way of Wyle... Coyote that is.
Always got an umbrella handy. ;)

RIMike- Thanks for the thought. Maybe I can do a Mental
Projection Thing and appear on your layout.:D :p

RI541- My RR Club is up that way in Largo
(East of Clearwater, kind of). Anyways... Not much action South
of Saint Petersburgh. Seminole Line has some stuff, but last
I heard they had a list-to-the-floor of violations. I'll get with
the guys on Thursday and see what's up. Give me an e-mail.

P.S.--At some point I'm to swing Cleveland, OH
too.

Well it looks like you are going in a wide arc around my part of the country, but if you end up near the N.C/Tenn. state line give me a holler!

Tyson- I'll be sure to do that. Thanks.
:D

Eightyeight- That's when you work your rump off
(driving insane distances, working long hours, etc.) and not get paid.;) :D
Like what the folks 'round here call "retirement" or what the weekend is to must people.
Justlonger than two days. :D

where am I headed, and who am I see'n?:D

TYSON- How's Saturday the 14th sound? I can pop over I-40 to SR64 (?). Give me an e-mail.:D

Make a BIG circle...

You could make all your stops - FL to Tysons to WV to Cleveland to OKC by way of Tulsa(where I live) and back to FL. DeLorme Street Altas says about 4000 miles and 70 hours drive time. Sounds like that fits your definition of a vacation perfectly!!:D ;)

What day can I expect to see you in Tulsa.....:D :D

Oh ya! Sure I'll drop by.;) :p

Hey Ya'll from Drenched West Virginnie!!:D

Unfortunetly me and Tyson Rayles (Mike) were unable to get together. He was knee deep in mud and stuck truck. :( :(
We decided perhaps on my way back to Florrida I'd try and swing by.:D
Having fun catching-up and remembering past mis-spent youthful activities.

Tyson-Did ya get unstuck?! I'm on my buddies PC; so can't e-mail.

P.S.- Check in tomorrow. Good Health and Travels Ya'll!!

Tyson,
I thought those Scooby-doo's could go anywhere!!! I had a Brat once and got it buried in the mud, took a dozer to get me out. When they get stuck they get stuck.:D :D :D

Shane this is a 2 seat 4wd station wagon (don't ask why it's a 2 seater :D :D :D ) and you are right in that they are hard to get stuck, but when you do...................................... On a brighter note as long as it doesn't rain again anytime soon my road is open to 4wd traffic again! :D

Tyson-Glad to hear you got unstuck. Soory you're stuck at home.
:(

I'm in Ohio now, great drive up.
Saw a (appeared to be) freshly psinted motive for the Wheeling and Lake Erie. It was in the old Rio Grande Black and Orange. I think I got some pics; my cheapo camera has been acting up. Anyways... It looked cool.
Friday I'm to meet with Brain (from this board), and fellow from another. We're to be in Berea, Ohio to Railfan and such. I can't wait!!:D :D
