A Small Challenger Problem

So far I am overwhelmed by the quality of the Challenger. I do however have one small problem that is bugging me. First, I can only program it on the main and second, I cannot get the bell rate to change from the slowest speed and cannot change the sound to see what the other bells are like? I can change the chaff and the whistles and the volume, but not the bell. I have a Digitrax Super Chief and a DT400 controller?
Any ideas?

I haven't even had a chance to play with the programming aspect of mine yet. The only thing I have come across SO FAR is on DCC, I can't figure out how to make it do the "ALL ABOARD!" thing. I will be going with a Digitrax Zephyr controller with a DT400R throttle but for now (at home) I'm on DC.
