A Road Trip to the Crossroads: Monon, IN, the "X"

The Monon line was so named, because the two mainlines form an X across Indiana, the "X" crosses through the small town of Monon. Monon is also known for Monon trailers, which went out a few years back and was bought by Wabash National, making it one of the largest trailer manufactureres in the world. Headquartered Lafayette, IN. Next time you're on an Interstate highway, see how many Wabash mudflaps you can count.

Firestation too modern for my tastes, but I like the sign. Like everything else in this town, it a stones through from a RR crossing. Never seen so much track per capita.
