Super work, RF!
It is gonna take me ages to get my SketchUp skills up to your level.
Hey, is this guy related to Geordi on "Star Trek"? That would mean the blindness it is a genetic problem, dealt with in two separate universes, the same way, joined only by the thin reality we live in. My head hurts.
here is a pic of one of the prop helmits
HEEEYYY, THAT'S THE HERON!!! In the hands of Steve Gawley!!! GREAT FIND, MATE!!!!
Quick update: I have finally found some decent cardboard in a tan colour. The original colour was some sort of mustard but my find comes as close to it as possible at the moment. Nevertheless, I like the colour, and it will do the job (anyway, I can spray-paint it later afterwards ).
Today I found some 1 m LED strips with warm white LEDs. A quick test shows that they are usable. Not quite like the original but they will do their job.
The lights are bright but not too bright. A light box made of black card will hide the lights which are not supposed to be visible. The box will be hidden behind the side pieces of the helmet. The battery holder will be placed in the neck, the switch in the chin guard. The left helmet is the mockup I am working with. The right one is another mockup which was too small. Below them you see the coloured card I will be using. It is a nice tan colour and comes as close to the original as possible. If necessary it can be spray-painted later.
@Revell-Fan That beer is getting closer and closer ............
You gotta make yourself a 'gadget list' and jump on the HiSpeed.
Come and do some shopping!
If you like 'coffee', I know some good shops .......
I'm sure you know!
Revell-Fan, that is one awesome Helmet!
I tried the link at the rerpf.com and tried the download but I keep getting some "Installer" thing and not the Viper Helmet file. Am I doing something wrong or has the original download been replaced by spam-stuff? Or is the "Installer" the actual thing I need to get the helmet?
No installer, it is a 4shared link to a *.pdo file.
Then something is wrong. I will look over that page again very carefully.
