1983 Nuclear Power Plant (1/350) for download

Discussion in 'Internet Finds' started by Thomas Pleiner, Nov 30, 2006.

  1. Good morning Gerardo,

no, the model shown in Bremerhaven is a brand new EPR-Nuclear Power Plant
which is about to be erected in Olkiluoto/Finland. The cardmodel was
    designed by me in 2004.

The one which I made avaiblable is a 80ties pressurized water reactor
(model designed in 1983) of a DWR 1300 MW type (aka "Konvoy").
Powerplants like this are operating since more than 20 years in
Germany f.e.Neckarwestheim, Grafenrheinfeld, Landshut-Ohu, etc. etc.

    To all:

Tank you so much for pointing out the two link-bugs.
They had been fixed now . . .
    Please enjoy . . .

    Best regards

looks like a great model. needs a lot of space. i have registered on the forum but i can't find where to download the files. any help would be helpful. can't read german.
  5. Paul,

when you're logged on as a member to www.kartonmodell-forum.de
there is a small picture of a steam loco on the left side of the
forum's portal . . . this is the entrance to the member's download
    area . . .
I think the rest is self-explaining.

Have a nice day and enjoy the model . . .

    best regards

I contacted Thomas, and he got right back to me. A word of advice to all; when you join a forum, Save your login info! It seems I was lacking a "." in my screen name:oops: Oops. Thanks much, Thomas!

    Greetings, Thomas!

And thank you so very much for such a generous gift! This is one of those extraordinary models that always amazed me both for the complexity of the kit and the attention to details incorporated into the design. The instruction booklet itself is a gem, providing numerous wonderful building tips and illustrations. I look forward to seeing the English translation when available, but am enjoying reading the original German text, although I am reminded of how unfortunate it was that I did not pay better attention to my lessons when I took German in High School.

Thank you again for making this wonderful kit available!!

p.s. I have another of your superbly designed kits, another classic, the NS SAVANNAH, which I have on my "to do" shelf; I can't wait to build her, but I have to admit I have quite a stack of projects to build before I come to her. I was wondering, however, being one who is always looking for beautifully designed paper ship models, if you had time to design any other merchant ships?

Thomas, I received your email that my account was activated, but I cannot log in. If I remember correctly, I had exactly the same thing happen the last time I tried joining a German forum.

  15. English Assembly instruction booklet available . . .

    Good morning all,

to complete this project, the english-language assembly instruction
booklet is online (obtainable from the same source as the model).
    (PDF 6,7 MB appr.)

    The booklet contains:

    • 28 pages US-letter format
    • the complete 1983 "guide to cardmodeling"
    • the complete "step-by-step" assembly instruction (as of 1983)
    • 36 assembly sketches. (manually handdrawn in 1983)
    • some brief hints + drawing how to build a true-to-scale cooling tower

Please take into account that this assembly instruction
booklet is, as it was 23 years ago . . . so some of the things written
down there are a bit outdated - I'm sorry about this.
Back in 1983, the primary guide to assemble the nuclear power plant
    model was the verbal instruction.

    So please enjoy the world's largest download model . . . ;-)

A base-plate / groundplan will added as the final item quite soon.

    Best regards
