I am used to build spacecraft models in 1/62 scale since I was a kid.

These are some of my models.

Those are some really great models. How many of them are scratch builds?

Ashrunner, all of them are paper models, scratch built, the exception is the Mi2 Helicopter, wich I downloaded from the net.

The shuttle and satellites are all home-made and scratch built.

Absolutely excellent and brilliant builds, Ed!

I love to see how modelers can take their builds to a higher level adding details and textures more like the real thing, and each of your builds does that superbly. The astronaut figurines you added in some of the pictures are in themselves wonderfully detailed...how did you manage to build them? They clearly add to much to each of the space craft model by having the astronaut give not only some scale perspective but also by telling a story in a fashion. Great idea!

Hope you treat us to more of your builds, when you can.

Thank you all for your kind words, friends.

The astronauts were made from epoxi resin (that kind of 1 resin and 1 catalyzer mixed together and when dry they became hard). I dont know its name in the US market (I am Brazilian), but it is largely employed in plumblering.

I often start to mold the figurines by the trunk, making the limbs separately, and then I put the spherical helmet on the top of neck. later I put the gas valves and other equipment.

I have great respect for anyone who builds from scratch. Very nice spacecraft!

I would like to learn more about your building and modeling process, too.

Good to have you on the forum.

Not to get sidetracked off the real space topic, but is that Mi-2 still available anywhere?

I found the Mi 2 (free download) in a maly modelarz - related site, some 4 yr ago, but I am not able to find it (and the entire site) anymore.

There were MiG 25, Mi 24, Apache, etc, all free.

I guess I still have the pdf files in my former HD, or in a back-up CD.
