I used bamboo chopsticks for the masts instead of the folded cardstock ones. and like wise used skewers for the yardarms and bowsprit. I cut off the cardstock ratlines at the turnbuckle and strung thread for backstays...

    welcome back to the emerald city. I was born and raised there and lived most of my life there until I retired. I now live in Moses Lake where the pace is slower , the traffic is less congested. and there is only 5 inches of rain per year. cheers bax

    actually I started the hull and base when I was working ...so it is office copy paper and came out black and white. I colored the bottom and boot topping with black felt pen after it was built and then pasted a new sign on the base. yours is very well done in the original colors thanx bax

    space for work and display is always a problem. I used to build plastic models (50 yrs ago) also built in wood and metal. Paper is so much easier and cheaper to work with. I have used file folders and cereal boxes and even copy paper. it all works. cheers bax
