    Tie fighter question

TIE scale is the same 'itchy spot' happening over in Replica Props modeling forums... no reference feature that connects to a real world object of known size, like the Astromech Droids and their dome diameters. Wouldn't it be funny to see a TIE variant that used a AM Droid? Ha! Very interesting...

    Star Wars Y-wing /my design/ 1:48

Given the depicted level of technology in the S-W universe, I would be very surprised if cockpits didn't provide some kind of 'virtual awareness' displays (aka holographic.) 2-cents worth... that's all. Regards, Robert

    Colonial Landram from Battlestar Galactica

Hmmm! Different proportions could perhaps be from use of models vs the "working" studio prop (i.e., the "real" vehicle.) Just a thought... Anyway, this is looking great... Robert

    Mi-24 Hind D

The 'ghost' market John & all, granted this was a beautiful build by Oldbot, but to the general population, such handicrafts just don't exist. Being as close as we are to the hobby, we truly appreciate the 'kit' and the results but we are few and far between (realistically.) Chris over at...

    Heavy grade cardboards

Cutoffs Picture framers here locally are often glad to get rid of the looming pile of matte board from their framing shop - for free! Can't hurt to ask!:thumb: Regards, Robert

    Incredible Babylon 5 Models

Perhaps, but these parts seem to be significant details (i.e., the Starfury's engine "actuator arms") Perhaps someone with Pepekura designer could take a look at the PDO's and see if it can be sorted out? Cheers! Robert

    Cessna 210

Pretty bird Nice, John. GA is really underserved which is odd given the huge number of subjects, markings & history. Look forward to what you come up with, mate. Regards, Robert

    Incredible Babylon 5 Models

Dumpster? Anyone else seeing a "pile" of what appears to be overlapping tiny parts that is displayed 'off the paper' in Pep Viewer? I found this effect in the Omega model and the Starfury 3a. In the Starfury, the parts are various hinge and control arm looking parts. Just wondering if there...

Model Of The Month: Colonial Viper (my techniques)

Me, too I ended building this as my first paper model (I've been plastic since I was five) I wish I had read your thread first, however - that trick with the sockets would have eased my engine work. I also double-walled the engine exhausts, but I used extra printed parts (the exterior was used...

    Hot Air Balloon

Ron, I am researching & drawing plans for a HAB replica in Sloggi "skin", since I am a big fan of 'nose art'. Can't beat the art on the Sloggi promotional balloons! However, my efforts will most likely take a while as I figure out how to manually 'unfold' the beastie. I actually would like...
