    FJ-1 Fury 1:33

:thumb:Really nice looking aircraft. I always have a challenge building the fuselage of my aircraft.. it seems that no matter what I do the different sections don't line up nice so I have a fuselage that looks like a bunch of different cylinders instead of one smooth body like you were able to...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

Continuing to make progress. The External Tank is complete along with the right SRB. The left SRB had some issues (wrinkling of paper along the seam) that just bothered me too much so I'm building a new left SRB. I've started looking ahead to the MLP and crawler... F*U*N times ahead.

    GPM Tornado F3 1:33

Thanks for sharing the photos of your aircraft. Its this kind of excellent work that inspires me to keep trying so that some day my models might look as good. :-)

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

Thanks for the kind words of support. :-) I'm making progress on the external tank and its coming along pretty well so far. I did make one goof where I lined up the seam line on the main tank portion with the seam lines of the pieces that make up the cone of the tank; I missed a step in the...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

:-) Model complete! The OMS pods were a little tricky to install so that they met up with the cargo bay but I'm happy with how they turned out. I definitely learned a lot on this build and I'm tempted to start a new one but have instead decided to press on with the shuttle stack (because I'm...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

Good progress made lately, though installing the wing tops and the aft engine section proved more difficult than I had anticipated. In my last email I noted that when I glued the shuttle body to the lower belly section I was a little off at the back end on my alignment... well that "little off"...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

Thanks for the support. :-) Yes, it does feel good to push through a challenge and make progress (gives me hope for the six or seven models currently occupying my Drawer-of-Unfinished-Projects). I've installed the two wing box supports and I can tell they're going to be a huge benefit in...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

What a difference a week makes! I had started over (and followed the directions this time) and went slowly and miracle-of-miracles... I got a payload bay-to-shuttle cockpit seam and alignment that I was very happy with. I'm still not sure if I got the nose section of the cockpit formed...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

Shuttle Atlantis, Take Two. Construction goes much faster when you aren't trying to second guess the designer! I'm back to where my challenges started on Take One (see first two pictures). I think I figured out what caused my challenge on my previous build. In reviewing the...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

Ever have one of those days when model building doesn't go "quite like planned"? And then you make it worse by trying to "fix" it? Well, St. Patrick's Day was that day for me. My decision to reinforce the cargo bay went awry when things got all slanted on me... and then I tried to fix the cargo...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

First up is the payload bay. Its an important piece as everything else hangs off of it (the cockpit, the wings, the engines and tail). I added some additional cardboard stiffeners to each of the four sides but not the bottom as it needs to be able to bend a bit going from the rear of the cargo...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

Thanks, Vince. I too have more models to build than time to build them (its what I love about this hobby and the paper modeling community). I'm determined to complete this particular model to show my wife that I can actually finish them.. not just start them (see photo of my work bench)...

    AXM 1/144 Space Shuttle Atlantis

I've started a build of AXM's 1/144 scale Space Shuttle Atlantis... specifically as she was flown for the STS-34 mission which launched the Galileo Jupiter Probe. As there is no payload available (and since my long term desire is to build the complete shuttle stack and transporter) I'll be...

    Quick Intro and "Hello"

Been about 2 years since I was last on the forum so thought I'd introduce myself (again). When I first joined I was working on a 1/48 lunar lander and 1/1200 Titanic... guess I'm still working on those since I never finished them. :-) Currently on my work desk in various stages of completion...

    1/1200 Titanic Build

The first paper model site I ever visited was Ralph Currell's and his 1/1200 Titanic model quickly became a "must build".... the only problem is that I'm a standard-sized person with standard-sized fingers and the parts on his model look they were meant for work under a microscope. So...

    Gemini Titan II

The model looks great! I built Ton's 1/48 version of the Gemini-Titan II; the interstage gave me trouble with it's open spaces and if you look close you can see I used a dowel in the center to keep the second stage lined up with the first stage. I'm tempted to build it again to get it right...

    Quick Intro and "Hello"

A few pics of the 1/48 Little Joe II that I built. This one went to a 2nd Grade Class that my daughter teaches, after I visited for a 'space careers' day. This was the first paper model that I tried that I actually was able to finish.

Is it legal to sell built free downloaded paper models?

I had a thought to sell some of my models for a very small amount (like a couple $) just to keep my work bench and shelves clear. I couldn't stand to throw something away after building it but I don't have space available to save everything. I finally decided to give my built models to local...

    Quick Intro and "Hello"

Just wanted to do a quick introduction. I've done a few builds of paper models and really enjoy the hobby. So far I've done a Little Joe II and a Gemini-Titan II in 1/48 scale, a mini-cooper, started a 1/48 lunar lander, and I'm currently working on Ralph Currell's 1/1200 model of the Titanic...
