Whenever your wife/hubby calls you CRAZY for what you do working with PAPER. Whenever they shake their heads when you talk to friends about what you do, show them this;

I have found an old (1944) picture of the USS Missouri and the USS Alaska docked together. I have tried to replace the old ships with the models that I have built.
Finally get to post the end of build. Now working on USS Alaska, GPM. Not as detailed as the Missouri and not the quality but a nice build. Also the USS Missouri and the HMS Repulse at same scale.
All 40mm mounts are done! Now the 20mm, a lot of them, and other small detail to finish, then the railings. I thought a big model = big parts but I was wrong.....a lot of small parts.
It was suggested by another reader to place the plaques on the stand and as it is a good idea I think I will do that. I have already made the stand so I can try it out and see what it looks like. Thanks.
I have worked on other models such as the Time Machine by UHUO2 http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149978&highlight=padre%27s+works&page=12. This takes a LOT of time for some parts. The 40MM I can do one-one and a half a day, the directors take a day too.
A little more work on detail and finished 40mm mounts on one side. Am thinking about placing the surrender plaques on ship also but they will be too small to read. May just put a small table where the surrender was signed.
Now to start on the other side of ship.
Working on the 40 mm cannons, ran out of barrels so I will wait until the new ones arrive. Also need the 20mm barrels. So working on the smaller details, searchlight, gun directors, etc.
Working on the stern detail. There are some very small parts so I do some modifications. When it says to fold a part so that there is detail on both sides they never match so I cut both sides out and then glue together. When the two parts are too thick to shape I copy the parts and print...
