Another update: the "nose" section is finished :) I plan to model the ship in separate sections (one part for the front hull, two for the nose, etc ...) Protruding details will be texture only to begin with, and will be added as additional parts as I add 3D detail ... (big version here)

Project update I finished the reference work, and decided to use the best "Halcyon model" pics I could find. I had to use them to create perfectly symmetrical views. This required some perspective tweaking. Now I'm going to start 3D modelling ;)

Well the plan is to release - first a fully textured but simple model (with a stand, no landing gear, not too many 3D details) - then a model with more depth (recessed panels, hollow reactors) - then a fully detailed model, with landing gear, and maybe clamping mechanism

Almost there!!! Well it's past 1AM here :eek:, and I have two finished halves of a Star Destroyer (not really finished ... I'm keeping the turbolaser batteries for later) I think I'll assemble them tomorrow, unless I take a little break, this step is crucial! :cool:

Update: Bottom's up! ;) The lower hull structure is complete, time to add the bays, the solar ionization reactor ... And then ship it all to the assembly line, Kuat Drive Yards style!

Thank you Zathros, this is helpful, and goes exactly in the direction I'm going now Indeed, the drawing I posted earlier were nothing but a draft to check that I could validate the 2D layout - to 3D model - to PDO chain, even if the 2D layout was inaccurate (or worse, not symmetrical :p)
