Well, the frames have been complete stuffed with styrofoam, and the deck has been installed. Even though, according the kit, the deck should have been one piece, I found it completely impossible to install, so I have made a clean cut lenthwise and installed it in two parts.

    Trebuchet 1/25

Hello Carlos, I had put a post here about the same project in wood, however since I made post more kind of a buildlog itself, mr Zathros thought it deserved it's own thread instead. So, to read what I wrote, you can check : http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171726 I love your work...

    Building a Trebuchet

Thank you for creating it's own thread, Zathros, but it's kind strange to have a buildthread of a wooden model in a papermodelling society... well on the other hand, all paper has been wood in an earlier life, I suppose :) Thank you for the comment DC... I guess I'll have to start working on it...

    Building a Trebuchet

Hello Carlos, Actually I did find pine in the right dimensions a couple of years ago, and started to build up the trebuchet, a couple of pictures is you don't mind me hostaging your log : At that point, I thought the wood looked too clean, no way they would have smoothed the wood to...

Oh, and no, that's no Wodka besides the ship, it's South African dry white wine :) PS : for the first time I notice there is a second window when scrolling down that says "Similar treats"... someone at least started this very same little boat as well it seems :D

Thanks again for the links, "bringer of light", although I'm not able to see the last 3 sites (due to the fact that I'm not a member, and don't understand enough Polish to know where to click to register), but even the two uncompleted links will be a help to me. Meanwhile I'm busy stuffing her...

    Peter von Danzig

Thank you for the very usefull link, and thank you for reminding me of the foam, I should have thought of it myself, since I've used that technique before when building my first one : That one (RN Duilio) has never been finished yet, but is still on ice... she's one tough lady to tackle...

No, no, a little misunderstanding here ; I haven't started planking (as a woodmodeller, I know it would not be done at one side), I was talking about faring the frames, sanding and filing to get a smooth flow from bow to stern :) But before I proceed now, I'll need to get our youngest from...

    Peter von Danzig

Thank you for the info, Zathros. Actually, I have one side fared now (as far as I can judge it) without any problems of regidity. The planking on this little ship is actually the same way a wooden ship should be build. eg every stroke is a full length plank (those ships were quite short in...

Hello, I realize how it has been since I last posted something here. Since my new workplace still isn't ready (read... it's far too chilly to clean up the attick), I had to find something suitably small to be allowed to work on the kitchen table. It's the first time I start a subject of this...

    little ship

Fantastic job, personally I would have laminated the frames to a realistic whideness en and have left one side "unplanked", but that is only my personal view of course. Now... next step a complete hull in admirality-style ?

    H.M.S. Sovereign of the seas

She's starting to look fine. When I saw the first wavy pictures I didn't expect to see the hull in that shape. However, and it's weird nobody has mentioned this before, I think you might have mis interpretid the plans regarding the beakhead. In ships of that period, the beakhead was...
