    Female Modelers?

I've met very few women in the hobby, but the ones I met were great modelers. :)

    Pics of my birthday haul

I have one of the Athearn flats with two modern JDs on the back, and after swapping out couplers (on my layout, it's Kadee or nothing), it looks & runs sweet. And the best thing- I got it 1/2 price just because the box was banged up. COuldn't have done any better if I went into the store...

    New Layout Pictures

Nicely done!!!!!! I'm a little late to this shindig, but what are you using for switcher power- the road units? Somehow, I envision MP15s doing lots of work here....... Keep the pics coming, and keep up the good work.

    How much are they worth?

The AHMs and MDCs may bring some coin, but the Tycos- well, they are what they are; low-end stuff. Unless someone is really serious about Tycos, they're better off disposed of.

    How do you decide?

If you could get a couple of narrow-gauge Mallets, I'd say model the Uintah- I've been on the old grade in a 4x4, and it was a doozy. Besides, the DRGW/C&S lines have been modeled to death, and I haven't seen much on the Uintah. As for diesels, you could fudge on the URy's end-of-service date a...

    GE 44-tonner

I have two of the two-motor 44-tonners, and they run fine. They're not meant to pull many cars nor go fast, and they do both very well. They're a bit noisy, but nothing like the coffee grinder that disguised itself as a Spectrum GP30. However, as in all things, YMMV.;-)

What Do Y'all Think Of This One?

That being the case, with the right scenery (hills/mountains/woods/etc), you may have a workable plan. Looks good to me:mrgreen:

    What a MESS

wha'hoppen to the Gauge? Long time ago, I joined the Gauge, and haven't been back in a while. I checked back in again, and WTH did I walk into? Why are we lumped with all the other hobbies? I thought the Gauge was a RR board. I know I've slept since then, but wha'hoppen?
