    MRC decoders

Lenz-or Atlas problem Wow! Makes for some interesting problems. Who's fault is this, Lenz or Atlas. I would guess that Lenz is making the decoder for Atlas. Who's spec. are they using? Altas might be asking for some short cuts to cut cost? Or did Lenz design the decoder and miss the boat...

    MRC decoders

Lenz problems? What decoder are you working with? Most of the Lenz decoders I know of can be reset to factor defaults by using CV8 and setting it to 33.

    MRC decoders

easy solution Why do all of that work? You can cut the shrink wrap at wire end and you will find a 9 pin connector- just get a JST harness plug it in the Tsunami and the other end has the 8 pin connector. BTW there are several lengths of JST harness you can get. Then you all you ned to do is...

    DCC Wishlist

Lights I would like to see some CV that would control voltage to the lights. It takes more time to set up lights than to install a sound decoder and speaker. This is very true if you have to deal with 1.5 volt lamps, and there are more than one.

Codes? Kevin, Digitrax decoder? Can you list the one that you have- What codes are you looking for? Most Digitrax decoders have a install sheet that came with the decoder. It should list the CV's you can change and the default number the decoder came from Digitrax with. I think we are...

    Athearn bluebox+DCC= Unneeded wiring

Who's decoder? Kevinkrey, You did not name who's decoder you have installed. Digitrax, NCE, MRC, ? Each of these decoders have some programable CV's that will let you fine tune the loco. It is true that DCC will not make a poor running DC loco run better. If the loco did not run well...

LEDs You might want to look into using LEDs for lights. The LEDs will out last your locomotives. Lights will not last as near as long.

    Decoder in Bachmann saddle-tank loco

I would say that you don't have the motor leads wired right. That is if the decoder is good. Do you a have a decoder tester, If so I would make sure the decoder is OK then move on to the install questions. Right rail is RED. The red wire that was at that motor connection should be wired with a...

Card board strips That is one of the best ways to make hills, valleys and the likes. I use this type of construction now. I also use the plaster cloth. Goes fast and does not make a BIG mess. I have used plaster, diping small pieces of paper towels into the plaster, then to the layout. BIG mess...

    Expanding on Bachmann E-Z Command

Booster cost WOW! With the cost of a booster you could have Digitrax Zephyr or a NCE Power Cab. And do you need 5 amps? If your are going to run two or three trains, either of the above systems will do that. I would look at a Power Cab system from NCE. It is a hand held unit that has a back lit...
