N scale Difference between Atlas track & Atlas "Snap" track

I'm going N scale. At hobby lobby all they carry is Atlas "Snap" track. I see other places carry Atlas track, but no mention of "Snap"... is this all the same stuff? If not, what's the difference and what do you recommend? Thanks as always...

N Scale beginner "how to" Books?

Some members of the Gauge have kindly suggested that a newbie like me would do well to invest in some N Scale Beginner layout, wiring, building, designing, general information, etc., books. I've done a search here for such a thing, but haven't had much luck (I may not have conducted the search...

Can't decide, but leaning toward N scale

Will annand & pgandw, Thanks guys. I think you're right about the continuous running, I just don't have enough room for HO to do it up right. I appreciate the advice on the "how to" books and the MR magazine subscription. I'll be subscribing... I picked up a couple mags at Books-A-Million...

Can't decide, but leaning toward N scale

I measured the width of his HO scale Bachmann EZ track layout (the oval part) and it's 38" wide... meaning it won't fit on a on 36" hollow core door. I like the idea of the teflon slides instead of casters and I may go that route with 1/2" plywood cut to adequate size. I bought a Walthers 2007...

Can't decide, but leaning toward N scale

Thanks for all the quick responses guys. Let me respond and clarify a few details. UMTRR-AUTHOR, Sorry about the confusion regarding the space I have available. I have attached a picture below of the maximum bench dimensions and just a quick draft of what I might be able to do with HO. On the...

Can't decide, but leaning toward N scale

Hey Guys! Santa brought my 8 year old son an HO scale Bachmann starter set with the EZ track. I've determined that I'm going to build him an under the bed roll out layout for his bedroom, for him and his friends (& me) to play with. He has a couple of manual switches and 5 or 6 cars with his...

    Show on Dish Network?

Thanks guys! I guess that's why I couldn't find it when I tried searching for it on Dish. Has anybody asked DIY why they are not running it anymore? Just my luck... I was going to watch them with my boy (who just happened to get his first HO set from Santa) to get his imagination throttled up...

    Show on Dish Network?

I remember seeing a show/series on one of the DYI type channels on dish network last year where they were showing folks "how to" items for model railroading. I have searched for it lately and can't find it now. Does anybody know of any shows/series like this and if so, what network, etc., are...
