Tuesday the Third and Do You Read?

Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman. In 1957 I was stationed at March AFB and another airman was leaving and he asked me if I would like his MRR book collection. I took them and there was MRR from 1934 thru 1957. I left March and passed them on to another airman. I sure wish I had...

    TrainPlayer Deluxe 2.24

Has anyone tried the TrainPlayer game of railroading. ? I just recieved an e-mail and it is only $ 39.95 for the Deluxe , regular price is $ 59.95. It looks as though you would get a good feel for switching but I'm not sure it is worth the $ 39.95:wave: Chandler

    A Stallion in Cajon Pass

I know what you mean Brian , it seems as though the great pumpkins are everywhere. I thought that it was of interest that a BNSF freight had a NS loco on the point. I have hundreds of photos taken in Cajon Pass and this is the first time I have seen something other than BNSF on the point

    Sunday - prototype or freelance

Freelance or maybe "copy-cat" as my track plan came from MR about 25 years ago. I built it pretty much as the MR article was written. Of course I changed the name of the RR and the setting was changed from Jerome, AZ to Tonapah, NV. I am still building it and it has been fun...

    BNSF Cajon Pass

The 4th loco is a Norfolk Southern. You see all kids in the Pass from CSX, CN once in a while you can see a freight with three or 4 different roads and not all from the BNSF. Chandler

    Lost thread

ezdays I tried it again and it worked fine. Iguess it has something to do with my "pop-up blocker" When I tried before I typed in the text and then tried to add the photo. The pop-up blocker blocked the window so I had to close the pop-up blocker and after i added the photo I submitted the...

    BNSF Cajon Pass

Here is a photo that I took in June 2006. It was taken in Cajon Pass just south of Sullivan's Curve. It kind of sums up the merger of the Santa Fe and the Burlington Northern with the NEW on the point and the OLD following. Chandler

    What do you have

Hi TrainNut, You are right it was a wharf scene. It was really a turning wye but the wharf made a great disguise. I made the frame work but didn't have the space to put it together. When we moved to Nevada I still didn't have the room. I sure envy those that have the room for a good sized...

    What do you have

Hi Lester, The T & SP is HO gauge. The track plan was from Model Railroader around 198?. John Olson wrote the article in MR and there was about 7 or 8 months to complete the building of his RR. The articles were titled " Building an HO Model Railroad With Personality". I lived in Cottonwood...

    Cookie Cutter Method

I use crumpled newspaper and cardboard strips, then cover that with plaster cloth from "Woodland Scenics" After the plaster hardens you can use rock molds or plaster and make all kinds of scenery. Chandler

    Cookie Cutter Method

The plywood that is left is where you put your scenery. I admit that plywood is out of sight but the same method can be used if you use MDF which is cheaper.
