    Some 2TRAK stuff

I have a question, why not just convert them to bend track modules? Are our modules 2' wide, then it would be simple and your corners would still work, all you would need would be 2 "Balloons". Just a thought.

    mice and trees

The best thing I found was to use a regular trap or three or four baited with peanut butter and 1 or two oat flakes. I live in the country and when we boought our house we had alot of mice, but after a while they all died or left. By the way I even got three moles with this. and my old cats...

    Richmond, indiana rail yard plan

Thank you for the info. And no the old yard is gone, about ten years ago I think the rail was still there, but un-used. I remember as a kid because there is a big park next to it and when I was a kid they had a small zoo. Now I believe that has all been taken up, as Norfolk Southern uses that...

    Richmond, indiana rail yard plan

I used a book that had a plan for the old Pennsylvania rail yard in Richmond, Indiana. Somewhere along the line I have lost the book and thus the plan. I can't remember the name of the book, I think it was a John Armstrong book. I'm hoping that someone out there can please tell me the name of...

    armchair dilemma

OK, I'm back. After working up a couple of plans, that I wasn't really happy with. I was given an early christmas present: I have wall (air?) rights around the entire basement. Sweet!! Now I just have to stretch out some ideas I have. Here is what I have to work with: 38' 6" x 24' 3" I work on...

Old, old Bachmann sets.. Anyone got Info?

My brother got one of those as a birthday gift when we were kids(around 76-79, perhaps). It had the blue base, as you said. The road name was Burlington, I think it was a GP-40. I may still have it somewhere, I look around for it and see what I can find out.

I'm thinking of making the layout 8' x 9' and basically running it around "the walls" of which there is only one. the benchwork will be 18" wide or I may go 24", not sure yet.But I would run the layout from the inside. with this arangement Im thinking I should get a good bang for...

    armchair dilemma

I was thinking of storing them under the layout (the part near the oil tank) when not in use. I was wondering about shelf a style layout. I was planning on building a frame from plywood and then using insulation foam as my platform to lay track. My question is do I still need to be that...

    armchair dilemma

My basement is pretty open, except for trackaga rights. LOL. That is a thought though, to build a shelf style layout. The Oil tank is a little high however. (i could build around it no problem)But if I use the 12' wall, I could strecth that to about 17-18' and if I then run along the other wall...

    armchair dilemma

Here’s my dilemma : I want an empire in a shoe box, or maybe a boot box. The area I have to work with is 12’ x 9’ in my basement , with my fuel oil tank taking up aprrox. 3’ x 5’ along the wall (the 5’ length runs from the upper left side of the 12” wall, as you look at it). I’m running N-scale...
