    What type of road bed do you use?

    I bought a roll of it a number of years back, It's about 9" wide and I cut it into strips, glued it down with "No nails" then glued the track on top and ballasted it. Curves are a bit more difficult; requiring a template and then cutting it from the full width of the roll

    Last time i looked the etching was still available from truck Stop Models. FWIW I read on some of the 1-87 truck forums that someone is to re-introduce the old Walthers kit.

    Building a 40s auto transport Truck

    A quick fix for the truck might be to use one of the old Ulrich kits. They come up on Ebay from time to time. Or a Sheepscot kit. FWIW I think the sleeper may be too big for that era. Not many trucks even had one back then.
