    Grade Detection

    an easy way to measure grade is to lay a string along the track on the entire grade. Then lay the string out straight, measure the lenght. Measure the height at the end of the grade. then do the math. 4" over 100" = 4 percent.

    Atlas C55 frog

    most larger engines will not have a problem, but smaller 4 wheel ones really benefit from a powered frog (Smoother crossing).

    It's kinda dead in here - On30 kitbash projects

    I have used adhiseve caulking and it works great. Tacky at first then dries solid. If you change your mind it is easy to remove.

    Tie count

    for what it is worth, I think that regular HO track with at least 1/3 or 1/2 of the ties stripped out looks better than the Peco On30 track. I have done both and still favor the stripped out HO. my $.02

    I will agree that "Adheasive Caulking" is the way to go. I use it all of the time, You can change things if you need too. the only way to go. my $.02

    What mistake have you done and what have you learn about it.

    Mine, Is jumping scales. HO as a kid, always thought N was cool. 1.5 years ago started with N 1 year ago started with HO .9 year ago switched to On30. I do love On30, but I hate to think what is next. G? Oh I do have two of those also... Those are for "Christmas"
