    Modelik Flower class corvette

The Corvette kit is pure intimidation....I've studied it numerous times and my only conclusion so far is that it is way to complex for me. PB

    Rivets revisited

Doing front and then back allows great registration and does NOT weaken the paper TOO much if the rivets are kept to a reasonable size and the paper is the weight most models are printed in. PB

    Rivets revisited

All this is a lot of work....just dimple the rivet from the front then flip the paper over and re-dimple from the back...you guys make things way too complicated. PB

    [pics] Fabulous Prinz Eugen

It has been reported by several modelers of wooden ship kits that using superglue/CA on rigging is a disaster waiting to happen. The CA causes the thread to get very brittle over time causing breakage. Something to watch out for! PB

    Motivated!!

One thing that has really helped me fight off the RR blues is to make modeling as convenient as possible. I have a dedicated, organized, sit down workspace with all of my tools and basic accessories like couplers and wheel sets visible and easy to access. Beside these items I have a VCR,DVD...

It's FRIDAY 3-18-05, weekend modeling plans!

Nothing much...continue working on the workshop under the stairs, maybe build something...I don't feel too enthusiastic about railroad modeling right now so I'll probably just see what happens. PB

It's FRIDAY 3-11-05, weekend modeling plans!

In between office work (YUK) and chores (YUK) I'm going to start building a work-bench in the utility room so I can set-up my metal working tools and spray-booth in a permanent location. PB

Its MONDAY 3-7-05, weekend modeling accomplishments!

Not too much....cleaned up the work-shop and computer corner, laid another switch on the closet layout, picked up some couplers and sundry other supplies at the hobby shop, and then droolled over some really expensive woodworking and metalworking equipment at the hardware store...some...

It's FRIDAY 3-04-05, weekend modeling plans!

I don't have much planned, never do. Hopefully I'll finish the closet layout track-work, do some more research on DCC sytems and what decoders I need for some of my engines, and ....maybe....paint, decal and detail a Westerfield freight car. PB

What do you listen to when modeling/running trains?

Just about anything...progressive rock, ambient, classical, jazz, or when I model the Southern...it's old time folk and blues. I have a small 3" TV on the work-bench...sometimes I listen to science, history or european football matches on that. The TV gives me something distant to re-focus on...

Its MONDAY 2-28-05, weekend modeling accomplishments!

Week-end work Well.....this week-end I registered onto this forum and started building a time-saver test-track in the workshop closet. The layout is 20 by 72 inches and will be used primarily to test the performance of engines and rolling stock...I don't intend to do much scenery wise. PB
