thanks David I just thought i would be covering my self having DC /DCC just in case there were some locos i could not convert or just not getting around to it for a while it does seem to be a bit of a mine field at the moment, I would quiet happerly do the whole layout to conventional dc but...

just a thought, tele photo and zoom will cause a concertina effect and really exaggerate imperfections even though it looks straight to the human eye. the proplem you will have is when adding liquid glues for anything chipboard will ballon up as it absorbs the moisture.

Wonky donkey took these pick's on a glass coffee table with a cheap'o digi camera after seeing your pictures i tryed to get the right angle, the trains are HO and measure about 3ft in length if its not your camera lens that's at fault it may be moisture or heat to wood or track, like the others...

my new layout is just in the planning stage at presant it will be 12' + 25' and basically an oval design most of the scenery will be country side and maybe a third biult up as an industrial plant or coal yard with some shunting going on, at presant i have 14 loco's of various makes most based on...

I've been there OK the layout will have to go but not the trains .as i said before its a hobby for life good luck

saw this layout back in England awhile ago now, nice to see its got its own web site dont think ive got the skills for p 87 but great for insperation one of the best layouts i've ever scene, have a look its worth it.

just add water Woodie got in before me i was half way typing you something when Aol decided to shut down this morning on my computor but his gave much better advice than i could have , I use Acrylic for everything' scenery, weathering locos & wagons, track the lot and all done with a brush' big...

I started with N gauge european then a visit to a local trade show i got talking to a guy who sold american trains i brought a N gauge Lifelike sw9 and it ran like a dream thats what got me into american shortly after that i went up to HO so i cant comment on the rest but good luck.:thumb:

differant roads southern what about locomotives would the same apply'

Weathered wagons & question just a few more pics of my stock , my question is i'm mainly collecting southern stock late 50's to 70s but what other roads would have brushed shoulders with southern I'm not one for keeping to the rules but it would be nice to keep things fairly pro typical.

weathering basicly Woodie it's strait out of the box and weathered i use variuos tools from cigarette lighters, sand paper, disc cutters to name just a few, tho i'm sure the railroads looked after there stock much better, will post more soon

thanks shaygetz & Dash10 I don't no to much about american railroads just picking up things as i go along the internet has been a great help, still got a long way tho' thinking about modeling 50's 60's era southern but knowing me it will be NYC, SOUTHERN, SANTA FE, and anything else i can get...

as a new boy thought i would have a go at posting a pic of my attempts at weathering a box car (well that did'ent work!) will try again...... I've got something now but it' a bit to small to view will try again any advice on what size pic i can post.
